Festival Rümlingen

The “Rümlingen Festival, New Music – Theatre – Installations” has been around for a decade and half now, and enjoys a high reputation with insiders. The avant garde conception of this series of events has been reflected in the visual presentation of the festival – as seen in the flyers, posters and programme booklets, which have been coming for the past ten years from a single source. The fundamental linking element of the Corporate Design of the event is a font family named LINE, which was specially developed for the festival itself. This is a font of modular design, which can continue to be developed indefinitely. Based on the Russian dolls principle, the different sections of LINE can be interlaced and overlaid with one another in countless variations.
Comments of the nominators
The font specially developed for this occasion forms the linking element in the print media of the festival – a framework which has gone on applying and extending its forms in a virtuoso, masterly and varied way for the past ten years.
