The synthetic fiber developed by OceanSafe is an alternative to polyester, which makes up more than 50 percent of the fibers and is highly problematic because it leaves behind microplastics after disposal. Now the Swiss brand, which collaborates with various textile companies, has designed its own fully recyclable garment, the Dual-Cycle T-shirt, which will be used in Swiss civilian service. When the garments reach the end of their life, they are taken back and recycled: either they can be composted or a process is used to recycle them back into the basic components of the fibers and turn them into new T-shirts.
