Start-up Mikafi's pilot project rethinks smart coffee roasting from scratch. The machine enables the roasting of small batches of coffee with Mikafi's patented technology. Numerous roasting degrees are possible and can be individually adjusted, which is central to the target group, restaurants and coffee bars. The concept also aims to create a fairer and more direct relationship between farmers and consumers, as well as a more enjoyable experience for coffee lovers. With the design, designer Sebastien El Idrissi has formulated a new typology: The design language is kept simple, timeless and functional, yet has a strong independent design moment.
